I am building a new shopping cart for http://www.stingnlinger.com . The old one was built in SohoLaunch about 10 years ago. SohoLaunch had an option to add text boxes to a product allowing for the user to input a quantity.

    For example, see https://www.stingnlinger.com/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=41#MOREINFO

There the user could put “1” next to mild, 3 next to “Flame Roasted” etc…

I need this same ability in Woocommerce.

I have found a lot of posts/support comments regarding creating “variations” and how to do that.

    I have 2 problems…

    (1) when I am in my WP admin I do not have the option to create a “variable” product – which seems to be required for allowing the variations. How do I enable creating a variable product? I don’t even have that switch or choice when I create a new product.

    (2) what is my BEST tool for doing this kind of choice? on that site we have a lot of “choose your flavor” special packages. And it is best handled by letting them put the text quantity in. (On some packages I could make a dropdown or radio button work better, but on a number of products we need to let them type in the quanitity.)

I am not against a plugin to help but I also don’t want to buy one that I don’t have to have if I can avoid it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Also, please note that the NEW site – in WP/Woocommerce is still in production and is NOT LIVE at this time.

Hi @stingnlingeradmin. It looks like you have now been able to create a variable product

It sounds like the other option you would like is to let user purchase several quantities of each variation of a product in one go. Is that correct? This isn’t a built-in feature in WooCommerce and will require an extension. You could use an extension like Bulk Variation Forms to do that.
