Hey @youngsquad
Thanks for contacting us about Facebook for WooCommerce! Sorry to hear our plugin is giving you trouble. I am happy to help out 🙂
Would you please send along a screenshot or the complete text of the error message you are receiving? Does this error happen immediately upon clicking the Manage Connection button?
Cheers,
Steve
Hi Steve yes it happens every time i click on manage connection. Now none of my new products will sync with Facebook
I’m not sure how i attach a screenshot here
Hey @youngsquad
Thank you for the additional information. I am unclear still if there is an error message that happens when you click manage connection. Is there an error message? If there is, can you please send the text of the error message?
Cheers,
Steve
Yes there is still an error message coming up. When I click on the “manage Connection” button it redirects me to Facebook where I get this message on the screen. “Error on managing Facebook Business extension. Please set up Facebook Business Extension first before managing settings.”
My business extension is already set up so I don’t know why I get this message.
I am also finding that when I create and publish a new product I get an error message on the product set up page telling me it can’t be synced with facebook however the product appears in my fb catalogue and shop etc.
I wish I could send screenshots via this forum as it would be easier to explain.
Hi @youngsquad,
Thanks for confirming! We’ve seen a few merchants have this error previously, where the business ID that gets mapped to the connection on the Facebook side fails in some scenarios. We’re not quite sure why this might be, and in the majority of cases, the plugin should continue to function correctly as you say, however it doesn’t allow you to open business manager from the Manage Connection button.
What we could do is take a look at resetting the business ID, and reconnecting the plugin. This is usually enough for the issue to disappear, and if not, we can certainly gather some additional information if we need Facebook to assist with the troubleshooting.
If you’d like us to try the workaround, we’d need to be able to edit an option stored in the database. The plugin generates this during the first connection attempt and re-uses it for the manage connection button, and future attempts so that Facebook can match the install correctly. This seems to be what’s failing at the moment.
I’d be happy to list some steps if you’d like to try this yourself, or alternatively, please could you raise a support request via our support form so that we may gather additional details more securely in case we need to involve the Facebook team?
Cheers!
Simon.
