Unable to establish database connection…

    I recently moved hosts for my page, but I did backup the database beforehand.

    Then when I uploaded everything to my new host, I keep getting this error. I named my database the same thing it used to be.

    I am really confused! Help, please?

    The “Unable to establish database connection” error message includes more details that can be helpful in determining the problem. Could you post the complete message here?

    There are lots of ways to get this error:

    • database may also have a prefix, as well as a name. For example, my “wp” database is called “ebr_wp” where ebr is my user ID, and my web host forces it as the prefix to the database name.
    • did you also create the user ID used to access the database?
    • did you connect the user ID to the database with full access (“everything”)?
    • did you specify the same password for the user ID as before?
