Running WordPress 5.5.1 and NextGen Gallery 3.3.17.Selected images are not uploading to the gallery and getting the following notice:
    Oops! Sorry, but an error
occured. This may be due to a
    server misconfiguration. Check
your PHP error log or ask your
    hosting provider for assistance.
The site does not support the GD Image
library. Please ask your hosting provider
    to enable it.
    Upload complete. Great job!
    O images were uploaded successfully.
    Manage gallery

Never a problem before, seems to have started with WP 5.5.1 upgrade. Any suggestions for a cure?

  • Hello @charliecot,

Could be the case that the hosting company changed something in the configuration as well. Mind reaching them and check if they can enable that module?

According to our documentation, NextGEN Gallery requires GD library.

As far as I know, there is a fallback method to that so it shouldn’t fail even if the module is not in place using “ImageMagick”. But by default, it uses GD library.

Please, keep us posted, we are happy to help!
