Hi, this plugin as worked well for me up until today. It seems I cannot redirect to new pages.

Here’s the problem. I created a new page on my site. I wanted to 301 redirect a specific url to it. When I create a new redirect in the setting, the page is not available to select from the drop-down list.

Here are some things I tried.

    1. Redirect to custom, set the custom URL to my new page’s URL. Result, 404 error when i navigate to my ‘url_from’. Also the number of hits under the plugin settings page did not increase.
    2. Using phpmyadmin, manually enter my url_from, url_to (page id), status=301 and type=page. Result, 404 error when i navigation to my ‘url_from’, and as before the hit count did not increase.
    3. Create a completely new page altogether for testing purposes and set up a redirect to that one. I had the same results with this new page and could not set up a redirect.
    4. Set up a new redirect but to an older existing page. This worked as expected.

    Some info about my site.

    • I use WordPress as a CMS so the majority of my content is in pages rather than posts.
    • I have 344 pages of which 340 are published.
    • I have 98 redirects setup with this plugin.

Is there some sort of limitation related to pages? Or some other issue going on here? Thank you in advance for your help.

Update on this. I’ve tried a different browser and the redirect works fine so I’m guessing this is caching issue. Does that sound about right?

@crispyste after reading your description I was about to say the same thing, cache, but also permalinks.

Do You have any cache plugin installed? Is your server behind a Cloudflare service, or something similar? If so, try to clear all cache (even browser cache).

Hi, thanks for your reply. I don’t have a cache plugin and do no use Cloudfare but clearing the browser cache resolved my issue thank you.

I do use custom permalinks though, could this cause a problem too?

@crispyste yes, it could be one of the sources of the issue.

If you have a minute, and haven’t done so, please leave a review. It’s what keeps support going. Thank you 🙏 https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/eps-301-redirects/reviews/#new-post
