    Hello all,
I’m new to WooCommerce and am just starting to learn it’s potential. Can WooCommerce be used for pop-up stores that can be built quickly either from template or scratch? Very basic with products on front page, no categories, payment method of credit card or gift card. We do stores for smaller shops and schools and are looking at alternatives to speed the process up from the time we have a request till live date.

  • Hi @renegade34g. Yes, WooCommerce is perfect for that! It is open-source and free–there are no licensing fees. (You would still need to pay for hosting, domain name registration, etc., but that applies to any website and is unrelated to WooCommerce specifically.) We have a doc called Start with WooCommerce in 5 Steps that sounds like something you’d be interested in. WooCommerce Mad Simple: A Step-by-Step Tutorial [+ Resources] is a great article from WPBeginner that goes into a bit more detail about this topic.

We have the free Storefront theme that works seamlessly with the WooCommerce plugin, and many payment gateways, such as Stripe, are free and easy to set up.

It seems it’s possible this could be run on AWS or Azure. Is there some kind of drawback to doing it on these instead of what you listed for hosting?

No, those will work. I believe the hosts in that doc are mentioned specifically because they have plans that are geared towards WooCommerce store owners who might not be as tech-savvy.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any further questions!
