We are seeing major memory leakage/usage from Wordfence when it attempts to run scans. And this memory remains utilised until we reboot the server.

To illustrate the point, we are seeing Wordfence consume +- 16GB of RAM when it runs scans. The scans fail always and there is little to no debug information to see why this is happening, even after following all of the guides. Additionally, the memory memory allocation remains utilised until such time as we physically reboot the server.

We have had to remove Wordfence from our staging and production sites now as a result. Has anyone else seen this behaviour or have any advice to help diagnose the issue?

Hello @shakazulu1 and thanks for reaching out to us!

Has this started happening after any kind of update? Are you seeing any errors in your site or server logs? Possibly any PHP errors?

Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks!
