Have not tried to delete and re-install because I was afraid of damaging existing galleries and albums.
I have exactly the same problem as described.
I have constant reloading on Manage Galleries page too
I have the same problems since Word Press 5.5.1
I checked it with a website using Word Press 4.9.15 and it works without any problems. Hope that imagely.com will solve the issue asap.

Before the following update notifications, everything was working great.
8/11/20 – Howdy! Your site has been updated automatically to WordPress 5.5.
8/19/20 – These plugins are now up to date:
– NextGEN Gallery version 3.3.17
9/2/20 – Howdy! Your site has been updated automatically to WordPress 5.5.1.
Now every time I try to edit in Manage Galleries, the page keeps reloading. Very aggravating. Please fix ASAP!
Hi @conservationdigest,
Apologies for all the inconvenience.
We want to check if it is a conflict with another plugin or theme.
Please, check the following:
– Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
– Is the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check one by one and find the one causing the problem.
– If the problem is not solved with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme, it could be a conflict with your current theme.
A full backup of your site is recommended.
Note: You shouldn’t lose any settings or galleries if you remove and re-install our plugin.
If the problem persists we will share a link so you can create an official bug report.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Because it has been a month or more since your last reply, I am going to mark this as resolved as I assume you have found a solution. Please feel free to reply again if you still have questions.
Thanks!
Well, actually I have been considering my next step. Since utterly crippling my website by de-activating all my plugins is an insane request, I guess I am forced to look for a different solution. Would you be willing to take your website down if the roles were reversed? I doubt it; especially since yours is the only plugin that is misbehaving AND mine is not the only site experiencing the same problem.
