could be a hack.
Are you able to ftp into your files and take a look at them? See if you have any strange files or anything. Also look at some of the php files and see if there’s any strange code in there
When my site got hacked with the base64_decode hack, it jacked up my admin pretty bad
I don’t know PHP, so do you know what should I be looking for.
yeah….a big huge block of code that looks like gibberesh. No discernable code or commands or anything. Just a bunch of random looking letters.
probably start with base64_decode
Are there any .php files that I should begin to look through to determine if I have been hacked?
I found it…the “base64_decode”…how do I proceed. Any documentations or guides available on how to move forward.
I have this exact same problem, but I didn’t immediately see any strange php files, at least not the ones you are talking about (not exactly sure which ones should be there or not!)
Does anyone know why the dashboard would change appearance..? It looks like a completely different structure, almost like a sitemap…no graphic content?
If my site was hacked and rogue files were placed in my ftp, where is a good place to look for them?

Thanks!
I’m having the same problem. What is the fix?
Try manually deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause. Follow this guide:
http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F
I have the same problem. It started after I re-installed WordPress. I have deactivated all my plugins and still have the problem.
