[NSFW] TablePress Loading Time issue: font preload

    Hello, everyone.

    First of all I want to congratulate the creators for the amazing plugin. I have been using TablePress for YEARS and I never had any problem with it. Hands down to the best table plugin for WordPress, by far.

    I’m now facing an issue with loading time optimization, as tablepress.woff font file doesn’t attach a <link rel=preload> as suggested by Google PageSpeed Insights. According to Google this results in 3.54 seconds of delay when loading my pages, which is HUGE.

    I don’t have a clue on how may I add this without changing the plugin files themselves.

    Can anyone help me? I’m sure lots of other people using the plugin will face the same issue or are currently facing without knowing.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    To be honest, I can’t really imagine that Google measures more than 3.54 seconds there! That sounds way to high for me. Now, are you actually using the DataTables JavaScript features on any tables on your site? Otherwise, you wouldn’t even need that font file, and the browser wouldn’t actually load it…

    I found it strange, too, as I recall testing these a few weeks ago, still using TablePress, without all this huge time.

    I’m going to try it again. I don’t think ‘m using JavaScript or maybe in one or another post and this is not essential, so I’m going to remove it from loading.
