• Dear WP community and @ethanchoi,
My website is about a year old now and uses WPForms for visitors to contact me. Recently, I noticed that notifications were only arriving in my Hotmail account and not my business account (info@ansareditingandconsulting.co.uk). So, I contacted my web host, 123-Reg, for help. They advised that I install the WP Mail SMTP and configure the settings to the following:
    • Other SMTP
    • SMTP Host: localhost
    • Encryption: none
    • SMTP Port: 25
    • Auto TLS: off
    • Authentication: off
The email test was successful. So, I tried submitting a test form from my website and I still only received a notification in my Hotmail account and not my business account. I’ve read through the WPForms blog on this matter, but the issue is still unresolved. Please can someone advise?

  • Hi @nalmufachi,

The SMTP details you’ve shared does not seem to be accurate, and it should reflect the SMTP settings of your hosting provider. In this case, you may want to reach out to your hosting provider for the correct SMTP details.

Once you’ve adjusted your settings, please try sending a test email within WP Mail SMTP again.

If you were able to send a test email in WP Mail SMTP successfully, please check that the ‘From Email’ in the form notification settings match the ‘From Email’ in WP Mail SMTP. This is so that the form is using the authenticated email address.

Alternatively, you can select the Force From Email option in WP Mail SMTP.

    Hope this helps!

And if you’d like more help with using WPForms Lite, please feel welcome to post in our WPForms Lite support forum.

    Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I’m still waiting for the web host to get back to me.

I can confirm that the ‘From Email’ for both plugins are the same which is my business email, info@ansareditingandconsulting.co.uk. Was I correct in inputting my business email as the ‘From Email’ for both plugins? Originally, WPForms had the ‘From Email’ set to {field_id=”1″}.

Also, do I use my business email in the ‘Reply-to’ field as well?

    Hi @nalmufachi,

Yes, when using the ‘Other SMTP’ mailer option in WP Mail SMTP, the From Email in your notification settings should match the ‘From Email’ used in WP Mail SMTP. We have a detailed tutorial on using the Other SMTP mailer option.

And in case if you’d like more help with using WP Mail SMTP, we have a dedicated support forum for WP Mail SMTP.

    Thanks!
