That’s an issue that has already been reported to our developers.
NextGen’s feature image doesn’t work with the Classic Editor.
Thank you so much for sharing, we will add this forum thread to the bug report.
In the meantime, you can try switching to Gutenberg, and that should work.

Very strange, when I deactivate NextGEN Gallery, all of my image links open properly in a new tab.
There are many picture links!? – Another editor won’t help here either, since everything is stored correctly with html “target =” _ blank “.
Has worked for years, it’s probably just a small bug.

NextGen Gallery Plugin deactivated, deleted and reinstalled – external tab over images is still not opened directly!
Is the previous version available for download somewhere?

Problem solved ! – Was an adjustment error ……. Fancybox LIGHTBOX EFFECTS: how should the lightbox be used – This only applies to NextGen pictures!
Now everything is perfect again!
