I have thesis on my website that was created for me. My questions is can i download the new version of thesis to my mac and work with it before i upload it to the website?

Will downloading it to my mac mess up the website?

thanks, but it seems a little to confusing for me at this time. i have a website that uses the thesis theme that has been customized. if i download the updated version of thesis, will it over lay my customizations

Are you using a child theme or did you customise the Thesis theme itself?

i had a company start the website but it is really expensive so i wanted to learn how to do it myself if i can. http://www.sunflowerfibers.com.
i would like to somehow mix sunflowers with yarn and trilooms. trying to get a knitting weaving theme.

It looks like the Thesis theme has been been modified, so if you download the updated version, it is possible that your customisations will be over-written.
