Go full screen for the video? Maximizing the browser window? I don’t see any evidence of a refresh when checking my browser’s network developer tool after doing both. No requests go back to your server.

When I click to go full screen, it refreshes the page.
I don’t see any data going to or coming from your server when going full screen. It may be the elements are redrawn, that’s necessary when the viewport size changes, but there is no fresh data coming from or going to your server. There’s data exchanged on youtube related servers that are related to the video, but nothing from yours.
Could the difference in our observations be because you are logged in and I am not?
I tried even in the incognito window:
https://www.sinda.org.sg/publications/march-2020/ When I try to view not only YouTube but also any other plugin that has Full-Screen option, it quits and reloads.
