Updating Parent theme

    Hello,

    We recently migrated servers to PHP7 and need to update the theme to be compatible.

    The site was built with a customised child theme. However the parent theme is not activated.

    Q1 – Is this unusual (parent theme not activated)? My understanding was they operate in tandem so both Child & parent need to be live?
    Q2 – I’m unsure how to approach the upgrade of theme because of above situation. There is no update theme link above either parent or child theme.

    Some guidance would. be appreciated.

    Hi!
    Q1 – it’s normal. What parent theme is used is written in style.css in the root of child theme in the row: ‘Template: enfold’
    Q2 – You cave premium theme and with a new version of it you should have documentation on how to install or update your theme.
