    Hi @salpetriere

    Thank you for posting here.

BD uses the default WordPress registration function, so those two fields are required.

You can simplify the process of registering for users by using the option to make the account creation a part of the listing creation process. That would bypass a lot of the issue while allowing a new user to register on your site easily.

To allow that to happen, go to Directory Admin > Manage Options > General tab > Registration sub-tab and choose “Yes, and make it required” for the Allow users to create accounts during listing submit? question.

Please try that and see how it goes.

That’s a shame, this is a fairly significant setback for our users. They are finding it difficult to navigate through the listing submission form.

We know this because we’ve had a number of listing submissions come through to our inbox that have not gone on to submit payment via the PayPal addon (the fact that we receive listing submission notifications before payment has been processed is a separate issue).

WooCommerce handles the account registration process really well. They only ask for an email address, and then automatically assign the characters before the @ symbol in the email address as the user name (which is required by WordPress). Thus simplifying the account registration process greatly for front end users.

Is it possible to implement this functionality into the listing submission form? It would improve the plugin greatly.

So far as I’m aware WooCommerce uses the core WordPress registration functionality also, though I could be wrong.

We’ve always had the option selected that you’ve mentioned.

    Hi @salpetriere

Thank you for your input on this issue — it’s really appreciated. We will be making some changes in the future to some of our processes, so I can submit this as an enhancement request along with the other issues you’ve brought up here. I can’t give you a timeline on this, but know that it will be looked at by our dev team.
