    Hey,

I’ve just installed the WP Lister Lite for eBay and I keep getting the following 2 errors.

It’s driving me insane and I don’t know how to fix them:

Error: Return policy value is not valid. (#21916328) (I only have 1 return policy in eBay…)

Error: Security policy violation. Description contains HTTP resources, which are not secure. (#21919490)
eBay security policy only allows HTTPS resources in listings, not HTTP. Please update or remove any HTTP resources.

I have no idea what this one means!

Can anyone help me? I really would like to fix these issues

    Hey @rswc247

    Thanks for reaching out today.

In the past when a couple other users had this issue, I did some research on this but could find absolutely nothing on it. That error #21916328 didn’t even show in eBay’s error code API page.

Now it does, and this is what eBay’s explanation is:

Long error: Please specify a valid return policy.

Yes, I know, quite vague unfortunately.

With that said, a while back we received an email from eBay notifying us that they will be removing the 14 day return option so it sounds like an option you set in the return policy is not valid. I would try disabling options one by one and refreshing your account details in WP-Lister’s “Accounts” page then revising until you find which setting causes this message to clear. Or call eBay seller support and ask them to look into your return policy you are using and locate which attribute is not valid.

I have been able to confirm what caused this error which was either offering too low of a return window, or using the “Return description” field which is depreciated in most cases now.

As for the HTTP issue, if your site does not use SSL, you will either need to push all images to EPS (and not have an image in the listing description) or install SSL and make sure WP/WC serves all images using HTTPS.

You can still upload images to ebay with EPS from http links. But if you have images in the listing template (description area) on eBay that are hosted from your site, those would need to be removed from the description in the listing template then revise all listings via WP-Lister.

If you are using SSL, you need to make sure you are on version 2.0.30 of WP-Lister or better. In 2.0.30 we added an option on the advanced settings page called “HTTPS Conversion”, where you can select “Use HTTPS”, and it will always use HTTPS for all image URLs in the listing template. So you would update to 2.0.30 if need be, enable that setting, and then revise all of your listings which should do the trick. If that still fails to work, switch the “HTTPS Conversion” setting from the “Use HTTPS” to the “Convert …” option. Then revise your listings again.

    Kind regards,
    John

    Hey John,

    Thanks for the reply.

I contacted eBay as suggested and they’ve said there is nothing untoward on my account at all. I only have the 1 return policy on the site which is 30 days… which matches eBay’s requirements.

    I’ve tried absolutely everything…

I also don’t have any images in my description either… just text!

The only images I have are product images and product gallery.

Is there anything else I can try 🙁

    Thanks,

    Hey @rswc247

I have seen some cases where a policy on eBay became “corrupted”. Could you please try creating a new policy directly on eBay, then click the “refresh details” link on the “Accounts” page of WP-Lister.

After that, select the new policy in the listing profile, save the profile in WP-Lister, then try publishing again.

If that fails to work, please send us a ticket with a link to this forum thread here: https://www.wplab.com/request-support/ so we can further assist you.

    Kind regards,
    John
