• I’m just about to setup a new site… Is there any good reason why I should upload 2.9 and not WordPress 2.9.1 Beta 1. As far as I can see 2.9.1 has more fixs than 2.9, so in my mind that means it should be more stable. It’s not like a 2.8 to a 2.9 jump. Am I wrong?

No, it doesn’t mean ‘more stable’. The additional edits might make the code more stable but only if the additional code is good. The ‘fixes’ could have problems of their own, for example. The ‘beta’ tag means that that code hasn’t been tested sufficiently to know if there are problems, to know if its stable or not.

I wouldn’t run a beta on a production site. If you are developing on a local server, you might save yourself a tiny bit of effort by using the beta but I kinda doubt it.
