Hello @supportitc!
Looks like you’re trying to change your permalink structure rather than remove the category prefix. Please refer to this kb article.
I’ve tried with
– RedirectMatch 301 ^/<category>/(.*)$ https://www.mywebsite.com/$1
– RedirectMatch 301 ^/([^/]+)/$ https://www.mywebsite.com/$1
Nothing.
Also, I have a problem if I do a research with two parameters because I got URL like:
https://www.mywebsite.com/search/?taxonomy1_name=test&?taxonomy2_name=something.
I need to have https://www.mywebsite.com/search/test/something.
It is very important for me to remove “?taxonomy_name=” from all URL.
If I try to visit https://www.mywebsite.com/search/test/something, I get 404 error.
My permalink is with /%postname%/
Thank you very much

Hi,
Unfortunately, your question or query is outside the scope of the support we provide. Giving SEO advice, in most cases, requires a deep analysis of your site to provide accurate advice for your specific setup, even for what may seem to be a simple question.
At Yoast, we want to help people improve their site and to make SEO attainable for everyone. So we offer Yoast Academy courses on all aspects of SEO, several great plugins, and a comprehensive SEO blog.
We understand that not everyone has the interest or time to learn SEO. Our main advice at this point would be to check for a local SEO company and see if they can help out. If you are using a web development agency, you could ask them, as most agencies have at least a basic understanding of SEO as well – the good ones do.
Hi @supportitc ,
We’re closing this thread as there seem no other concerns from you. Please feel free to open a new thread should you have further concerns.
