I crashed a site (machine smoked) and I have rebuilt on 2.9.

My exported files are in XML 3 MB plus and 2.9 wants WXR smaller than 2 MB.

Is there anyway to convert this?

you need to edit your php.ini file to allow for larger uploads, this isn’t a WP setting. If you’re not familiar with the php.ini file, you should contact your host.

Have to get familiar with it as I am self hosted.

http://us3.php.net/manual/en/ini.core.php#ini.upload-max-filesize is basically what you need to modify

He Jmike, are you sure about the 2MB since 2.8.6 allows me 8MB!
You can chop an xml file in smaller chunks; i did that with Wordpad once, (always leave the same beginning and end lines in the new files).
