Imagick and php 7.4
-
Hi Everyone.
I use WordPress to build my websites and my server uses the Imagick php module.
I recently updated to php 7.4 on my server as WordPress said that would be better for my site health.
Before I was php 7.3
Now I am on php 7.4 I get this warning on all my websites.(PHP modules perform most of the tasks on the server that make your site run. (Any changes to these must be made by your server administrator.)
The WordPress Hosting Team maintains a list of those modules, both recommended and required, in the team handbook (opens in a new tab).
Warning The optional module, imagick, is not installed, or has been disabled.)
On my server under php file extensions the Imagick module is enabled.
I asked my server about it and they said that the Imagick php module does not support php 7.4 and recommend I downgrade to php 7.2!!
I am not a techy person but I would like my site health on WordPress to be 100%
Is it true what they say about the Imagick php module not supporting php 7.4 or how I can resolve.
Please remember I only build websites using WordPress, elementor and some plugins and that’s about the extent of my tech knowledge
But I always try to update everything and keep my sites healthy.
If you have any advice that would be great.
Thank you and Stay Safe in these times.
