@advancedwarfare if I get it right, @brainstormteam is asking if it’s possible to use Gutenberg to edit Category description just like we usually do with pages and articles. Many of us use templates that generates category pages as important landing pages, and yet currently they have an inferior editing and management interface compared to posts and pages.

It is possible by using the Custom code or third-party plugin. However, I have checked here and it doesn’t look like it’s something that is currently in development.
But you can use our UAG plugin where Gutenberg Editor is enabled.

UAG plugin only adds the featured block to the Block editor. We do not have any feature right now to unable the Gutenberg editor for category archive.
But I would love to take this as a suggestion. I’ll put forward your thought about this to our team and if feasible we will try to improve the scenario in our future updates.
