A Button block is a link, so if you want to delete the link, just delete the Button block.
There’s no reason you have to use the Button block if what you really want is a styled link.
The editor changed, but you are still in charge of the content (the editor isn’t).

Hi there. Well its like switching text from being normal text to a hyperlink. You dont delete the text to remove the hyperlink you just click the hyperlink button to remove the link. Anyone who edits in html would be familiar with this.
There is a hyperlink button for the button block but when you click to undo the hyperlink it messes up.
You didnt help me on the button size issue. So if someone can help that would be appreciated.
If your suggestion is that nothing can be changed and the bugs will stay as they are well thats fine i can switch back to elementor. The only issue with elementor is that it can take longer to load pages and it can be problematic when exporting posts to another site.

If you’ve discovered a bug in the Button block, you can write a core ticket at https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ or directly in the Gutenberg repository: https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/
You could also write another one for requesting multiple styling options, but is usually something provided by the theme or plugins.
You can add CSS in the Customizer > Additional CSS to style the Button block to be smaller, either apply the CSS to all of them or just a class that you then put on certain Button blocks.
