  • Hi,

We apologize for the difficulties the plugin is causing for you. Google has specific requirements for the Logo that they outline here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/logo. Please verify that the Required Properties of the logo match all of them.

Hello, The logo meets all of the criteria mentioned:

The image must be 112x112px, at minimum.
The image URL must be crawlable and indexable.
The image must be in .jpg, .png, or. gif format.

The issue is that it is incorrectly inputting “/#logo” instead of the actual URL that I want where the logo does reside, as seen in the screenshot in my first post

    Hi,

That “/#logo” is expected behavior. While we do not have a URL to view, there should be another part in the schema that shows the URL of the logo. See image https://pasteboard.co/Jc9v9ND.jpg.

We did not see a screenshot that shows that. Can you confirm in the source code that the URL is appearing?

    Hello,

Yes, the URL is appearing in the source code:
    URL in source
Also, I checked that the URL is indexable both in Screaming Frog and Google Search Console.

Hmm.. The forum post URL here https://wordpress.org/support/topic/amp-error-in-required-structured-data-element/ refers to the GitHub issue here https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/13168.

The GitHub issue created those errors in Google’s testing tool because Yoast would incorrectly output both Organization and Article when a website had not set their organization’s name and/or logo.

While you may need to contact Google, we would like some more information.

    1. Can you send us a screenshot or copy/paste all of the Yoast schema? That way we can take a closer look at it.

    2. What kind of page has the issue? A post page? An archive page? A Custom Post Type? etc.

    3. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.4.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

    4. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

Sorry if the link I posted to that other support thread wasn’t immediately relevant – I just had seen that the poster had a warning that the image was missing as I do, so thought I should mention it.

    2. Blog post.

    3. WordPress version is 5.4.1.

    4. All plugins are up to date as is the theme.

    Hello @panwage

Thank you for getting back to us. Would it be possible for you to provide us with a sample URL of one of your blog posts where you are getting these errors?

Error: A value for the image field is required.
Warning: The image field is recommended. Please provide a value if available.

It’s really difficult to troubleshoot further if we can’t run the URL through the Google Structured Data Testing Tool and identify which part of the schema.org structured data from the Yoast SEO plugin could be causing this.

Thanks for sharing the relevant page link here with us. We were able to reproduce the issue at your site on our end.

To investigate the issue further, can you please confirm whether you’ve added a featured image on the relevant page? If not, can you please do so to see whether this resolves the issue for you?

If the issue persists, can you please perform a conflict check first to check whether this resolves the issue for you?

Please let us know whether the issue persists.

I am getting this same error message across a bunch of posts. What was the solution in the end for fixing?

Here’s an example of one of our posts that has the “Error: a value for the image field is required” : https://gravitypayments.com/blog/12-things-indie-bookstores-can-do-to-thrive-during-covid-19/
