It’s as if someone flipped a switch and suddenly no search engines are finding my site, despite the fact that the subject matter of my site hasn’t changed.
I’m barely website-literate, and wondering if I’ve deleted some hidden code or accidentally turned on some function that blocks search engines from scanning my site.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Have a look at the source code of the home page. See those many, many hidden links? Well I’d say it would be because of that.

Might be that you have a huge number of XXX links and others in your page source as a result of a hack? See FAQ: My site was hacked « WordPress Codex and How to Completely Clean a Hacked WordPress Install

Guys, I hate to sound like an idiot, but I have no idea exactly what you’re talking about or how to apply your fixes.
Would you mind dumbing it (way) down for me?
How exactly do i look at the home page source code?
And what do you mean by a huge number of “XXX links”? What is an XXX link, and how do i find out if i have them on my page source?
I’m so lost here, fellas, it’s not even funny.

With whatever browser you’re using, go to View Source. Scroll down the page and find all the porn links. They were ~ahem~ inserted in your database via a hidden administrator in wordpress, a hacked FTP account, what have you. Or they came through your shared hosting. Whatever happened, you need to clean them out by following the links above…..

When I go to View Source and scroll down, I don’t see any out-of-place (read: porn) links that need to be deleted.
    Next?

Here’s your Google cache of your site from earlier today: Rumor Rat – Say Cheese Hollywood!. Look at the source of that page.

Right now, the links are gone, so they’re intermittant or your host fixed an iframe hack. Believe us or not, but alism and I and lots others see this a few times a week. Your hacked wordpress won’t fix itself.
