After uploading the plugin and trying to activate it throws error 500.
WordPress 4.9.14 running Divi theme.

Kindly elaborate more on what error is shown. You can check here https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#example-wp-config-php-for-debugging on how to enable debugging.
Please share the PHP version you are running and the Divi version you are using.
