A question I asked allready at wpdiscuz.com… but maybee one of the user here have an idea / solution?

I have a basic form with following fields.

    1. Comment
    2. Name
    3. E-Mail
    4. Website
    5. Checkbox
    6. Submit box

I want fields 2-5 to be hidden until the first click into the comment filed. This would save much space (some other forms are maybe much longer than my one). The full form is only needed if someone wants to place a comment, so the comment field as a trigger is fine enough. Hope this can be done in 7.0.0!?

    Hi @check2020de,
Now we see what you meant before. Yes, wpDiscuz 5.x versions had comment form collapsing and expending functions. This is removed at the moment, but we’ll add it back in near future releases.

    Ok… 🙂 …and I thought I where stupid 🙂

Any reason why it is removed? This was so amazing and a perfect function. Looking forward for the near future!!

    @check2020de,
To tell the truth this is not removed, this is just not added in the new comment form. We’re adding it in the next version.

It is working great… until I load the rich editor. With the rich editor the comment form view is set to expanded and can’t be changed 🙁

…..and now I can’t switch back to collapsed, doesn’t matter if the rich editor is on or of.

I disabbled all plugins, excluding wpdiscuz and switched to the default wp 2020 theme… still the same. I deleted browser cache and cookie… still the same. I changed to another browser (using Firefox and Chrome)… still the same 🙁

The option to expend/collapse is located in Dashboard > wpDiscuz > Settings > Comment Form Tab.

…when I click save it switches back from collapsed t expanded

That’s all we;ve added. So it can be collapsed or expended. There is no other options.

Yes, I know. It was default set to collapsed. Then I enabled the rich editor and with this it changed to expanded
Doens’t matter now if the rich editor is on or off… When I change to collapsed and save it, it goes back to expanded. I can’t use collapsed any more.

What I’m saying is, that the switch collapsed / expanded is broken!

I think you need to do a full reset/delete of all cache/CDN and optimizer plugins. Then go to frontend and press Ctrl+F5 to reset browser cache. And leave your website URL, we’ll check it tomorrow.
