    Hi Anders,

    Thanks for your prompt response! A few more if you can please.

    1. Every blog post ‘featured image’ is blurry although all the other images are just fine. (Full width or my current width: 600px = the same result.) Thought?

    2. When considering site speed optimisation (GTmetrix), is Total Page Size more important than Requests? Say, one is 842KB / 57 and the other 1.72MB and 47. All things being equal, which one should I choose? I’m testing out a different combination of plugins for the best optimisation set up for Chaplin.

    3. Mobile score on Pagespeed Insights goes down far below 60 with 3rd party ads. Am I right in thinking that there isn’t much we can do to improve this score with most free cache plugins because of 3rd party ads?

    Hi @maybenot,

    1. It’s possible that your existing featured images have low resolutions because of the featured image size used in your previous theme. Try installing the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, and use it to regenerate the image sizes on your site.

    2. I’m not an optimization expert, but as a general rule, I’d say keeping requests down is more important (to a point). If nothing else because the total page size is easier to reduce by using methods like lazy loading.

    3. Yep, 3rd party ads are a data hog. The best you can do is to make sure that the ads are loaded as late as possible and doesn’t block the rendering of the page.

    Hi Anders,

    Two plugins (Regenerate Thumbnails and EWWW Image Optimizer) solved the featured images issue.

    Thanks for the additional info too – very helpful.

    I’ve recently tried 20+ free themes and finally settled with Chaplin. So, not seeing answers to questions here for about a week worried me. But now you’re back!

    Thanks for making the amazing theme available free and giving out your free time – what an unselfish thing to do.

    @maybenot Happy to hear it! Yeah, I was out hiking for a week, so the support requests piled up a bit.
