I am sorry for the inconvenience.
This plugin does not handle the profile editing experience. It is the underlying platform and theme that provides the editing experience.
If your button seems to be disabled, If you are using custom theme, check with their author.
Otherwise, Check with server admin for any error log, That should give your more pointer(It might be related to post maximum variables).

I understand but a strange thing is, as admin I’m able to save fields all the time. Because for me it does not matter if not all the fields are filled in. And even if they are all filled in it is working.
As normal user I’m able to save a few profile groups (when there are not to much fields in there). The button is not disabled but is just noth doing anything. The theme is made by me, and I’m sure there are no functions who make this save button not working.

If it is working for site admin, It is not the post max vars issue.
Is there any chance you are hiding some required field conditionally. That seems to be the most probable reason.

I’m hiding fields based on conditions, but that tab is working correctly. Another tab where no fields are hidden, I’m unable to save to changes for some reason and from the admin account I’m able to save them. So also that is not the issue, otherwise the one with conditons should not work and the other one without conditions should work.
