Change Permalink Structure Of Pages

    Hello,

    I was wondering how to change the permalink structure of your pages? I know how to do this for posts but I do not see the option for pages.

    Currently the permalink structure is set to category/pagename but I just want to it to be page name without the categories. The catch is that on the front page the pages are organized by categories which I need to keep. But when I publish them I want to be able to customize the permalink. Any ideas?

    That’s because there isn’t one.

    Currently the permalink structure is set to category/pagename

    Do you mean /%category%/%postname%/?

    Try /%post_id%/%postname%/

    I am not sure that will matter because I need to change the permalink structure for my pages not posts.

    So there is no way to do this?

    I think you’re a bit confused about the concept of pages and posts.

    The permalink structure you refer to is for POSTS only. If you’re asking to remove the category base from your URL’s (so no more example.com/category/name but example.com/name, you need to look for a plugin that removes the category base.

    I have used http://fortes.com/projects/wordpress/top-level-cats/ in the past and it worked for me – but there are some limitations.

    If you’re talking about permalinks for PAGES (think your About page, your Contact page etc) – you can set the “permalink” for pages in the page-editor. It’s called a “slug” and you set it right below the title field.
