New To WordPress & Website buiding — Help!

    Hi, I’m new to WordPress and am trying to build my own website (must admit I’ve been locked out when wordpress would’nt accept my password and despite 3 requests have’nt received a new one, so Im on with a different user name!).

    Logged on today and found a wordpress upgrade was needed and did that. Then I get the following message below, followed by a number of files listed – how do I do this and what does it mean?

    “Please save following information. You will need it in order to restore if something went wrong
    If you don’t have SSH access, ask support to help you:
    – delete all the files listed in”

    Did you upgrade via Fantastico?

    Don;’t worry about these files for now. Fantastico makes a full backup of WordPress before it upgrades it. When you next do an upgrade, Fantastico should provide you with links to delete the old backup files.

    Thanks esmi, so presumably if they’ve supplied those links, I just click on them and delete those files?
    Sorry, I think this may be an obvious question, but I’m very new to all this – think I need to invest some time learning about how everything works!

    Leave them alone for now and delete them when you next run an upgrade via Fantastico.

    esmi or anyone else for that matter!! can you point me to somewhere I can at least get some basic instruction on how to design a website using wordpress as still haven’t managed to do it – just returned to this after getting waylaid with some other projects!!
