    Hi,

Thanks for creating this free app!

Unfortunately, I can’t get it to work.

The plugin suggests URLS like this: /news/category/press-releasefeed/gn , however those pages are 404. I got the feed to appear when adding a slash after press-release, so /news/category/press-release/feed/gn

However, when added as a feed to Google Publisher Center, no articles show.

    Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi Josh,

I’m seeing the feed both with and without the trailing slash. Are you still getting a 404?

The Publisher Center has been slow to update things, and it’s important to refresh the entire page (using your browser’s refresh button). If you go to your Publisher Center now, refresh the section, wait about 15 minutes, then refresh the entire page, are the article displayed then?

    Hi Chris,

You were right about it being slow! That was the issue.

However, I did have to add the slash: /press-releasefeed/gn didn’t work, but /press-release/feed/gn did.

Thanks for creating such a useful app.

    Best,
    Josh

    Thanks Josh,

I’ve been working and testing things all day, the Publisher Center is so finicky and things work (or don’t) in unexpected ways. I’ll have an update out shortly to deal with a few more little issues that have cropped up on different wordpress setups.

Please feel free to leave a review, I’m trying to build those up 🙂

    Hi Allnewsonline,

I don’t see anything wrong with the feed when I just checked.

In the Publisher Center, refresh the feed using the button in the Publisher Center, wait ten minutes, then refresh the entire page using your browser’s refresh button, and then recheck to see if any articles are in the section.

If there still aren’t any, Google’s crawler might be blocked. Do you have access to your site’s access logs? If so, do a search for “feedfetcher” (without the quote marks). Do you have any traffic with that as the user agent? If not, it may be being blocked by your hosting company. You would need to contact them and ask them to whitelist it. For more info, you can point them to https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1061943

If you do see hits from feedfetcher, then we’ll have to take a look at your feed again and try to figure out what might be causing the issue,

    Chris
