Slide order and updates not saving

    I am having issues reorganizing slides after creating a new slide, or simply attempting to change the order of slides that already exist. They “physically” show being reorganized along with the slideshow saved modal, but when I click on preview, or refresh the page/click away and come back to the plugin the order is reset.

    This is another issue, but I believe they’re related. I’m also not able to show new layers after adding basic text layers and animation layers on a new layer slide. I click on save within the edit modal and get the usual modal message that things are saved, but nothing is displaying properly on the front end of the site.

    Is there a way to backup the slideshow so as not to recreate the wheel so I can remove and re-add the plugin?

    I have checked dev tools and get no error messages. I do, on occasion get an “undefined error” modal pop up, though. No additional information is given. I also notice that I am getting 200 status codes in the network tab for each save… I’m kind of at a loss as to why this is happening…

    I have MetaSlider v. 3.16.4 and MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack v. 2.7.1 installed.

    Hi,

    Try to temporarily deactivate all the other plugins or switch to the default theme and see if that fixes the issue.

    If that does not resolve the issue, it could with the MetaSlider Pro plugin you are currently using. It is already quite old.

    Thank you, @bcrodua. I am in the process of duplicating the site and testing locally. If that does not work how would I go about getting an updated version of MetaSlider Pro Add-on?

    I tested by switching to the Twenty Twenty theme and then disabling all other plugins, but still having the same issues.

    Hi,

    Any difference if you disable the pro plugin?

    If not then can you check for any PHP errors in your server logs? You’ll likely have to ask the hosting company where these are.

    Hi @kbat82,

    When I disable the add-on plugin I lose access to the layer slides, which are the majority of my slides. After adding in some additional image slides it seems to be able to save the new order. Do you think it’s safe to say that the outdated add-on plugin is the cause of the issue?

    @kbat82 it only works when I deactivate the “MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack”, which enables layer slides, etc. When I activate the plugin again I have the same issue.

    How do I go about updating that specific plugin?

    I still don’t know if that’s necessarily the main issue but you need to make a new purchase to update that. Here: https://metaslider.com/upgrade

    @kbat82 I appreciate your time and thought in helping me troubleshoot this issue. I have upgraded the plugin and it seems to have done the trick. Have a great rest of your week!
