    Hi,

Having difficulty getting the side bar to budge down. Text is pushed down but not the widget itself when going thru Customizing â–¸ Layout – Sidebars

    https://teojobs.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/widget-height.jpg

Are they independent of each other when it comes to padding/the height they are from the header?

    Feel I’m missing smth.

    Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the page where the issue can be seen?

I checked a couple of pages but don’t see a sidebar.

    Let me know 🙂

    Hi there,

    Thanks – here you go:

Can you try using a Separate container layout instead of one container layout?

I did try that. The left sidebar disappears when u use sections. Alternative is using Tom’s Columns plugin but cant change background color, as I have done here.

Can you set it to the separate container option for me to take a look?

    Thanks!

    Here you are
As you can see there is no left sidebar if Sections are enabled hence they are not

I’m actually not referring to Section at all.

I’m referring to Separate Container or One Container as linked here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/widget-height-different-to-body-height/#post-12786296

Can you try the separate container option?

Hi -separate containers now enabled – https://teojobs.com/gp-demo/

    tks

    (@rob33)

Hi – altering the content padding using separate containers here – Customizing â–¸ Layout Container – enables me to move body/content up down while sidebar remains still. Great, tks, sure I played with this but anyway. It works! Thanks.
How does one though alter content padding for sidebar out of interest? I can work round it if not possible – cheers.

However if I apply with white bcground color to content it looks like it this – https://teojobs.com/gp-demo/ – images still too low if top of body container is in line with top of widget

Ignore – sorry – I do have an issue with controling space/padding between sidebar and content – can this be reduced without content block shooting up or down? thanks

Looks like the original question is solved?

If so can you open a separate topic for the new question?

    Thanks!

    Thread Starter rob33

    (@rob33)

Partially solved yes, only in that is it possible to move sidebar up down like content block or if not, no need to post new query as it relates to same issue. Cheers.

I thought the issue is solved when you used a separate container option?

I saw the option activated before and the content and sidebar align correctly.

    (@rob33)

Because the sidebar is still a fixed distance from the header. Therefore you are restricted to just one setting.
