Hi @espacemusculation,
Our plugin doesn’t know if WebP versions were created, therefore what you are asking is not possible for now. Sorry!
Hello and thank you for your response.
Would it be possible to consider an option to remove webp images as well?
This file is being used more and more. This will make your plugin even better!
Hi there,
Unfortunately that’s not on our roadmap. WebP images could be generated by any plugin and it’s never a good idea to randomly delete data from plugins 😉
Have a good one!
@sixaxis
This is not a problem since I delete them manually.
There are also plugins like yours that allow the deletion of webp images…
Hi @espacemusculation,
There are more than 50,000 plugins in WordPress. As you can understand, it is impossible to know what each plugin does, generates or removes. Some plugins that create .webp files may rely on those files to do any other task. If suddenly we remove those in a way the other plugin does not expect, we may trigger some misbehavior on that other plugin.
That’s why we shouldn’t implement this.
Cheers!
Okay, I understand not putting it on base. But as an option, that would be fine…
