    Hi Team,

I’ve cloned a new multisite from an existing multisite, however, the new site switches to default theme and I cannot activate the custom theme. I can confirm the issue is with the NS cloner since the custom theme is activated on new site if I create a new multisite manually.

Request you to kindly help on this.

    Hi Manik,

It sounds like you are using NS Cloner Pro and Remote Cloning, is this correct?

Since you are copying from one multisite to another with Remote Cloning, THEMES and PLUGIN files will NOT be cloned as per our documentation. Only the WordPress Database is cloned. You will need to manually move themes and plugins over to the new server via FTP.

Also, for all Pro support please visit https://support.neversettle.it

    Hope this helps!

Hi- Thank you for getting back quickly.

No, using the free version and not remote cloning. Cloning on the same multisite network.

Ok thanks. However, you said: “I’ve cloned a new multisite from an existing multisite” but that is not possible with NS Cloner Free, only with the Pro version. Maybe you meant you cloned using the Standard Clone mode?

What happens when you try to activate the theme in question? Is there an error message? Is the theme active on the site you cloned from?

    Hi,

Yes, that is correct. Cloned it via standard clone mode. No error, on activating the theme the page refreshes and still the default theme remains activated. The new theme doesn’t activate despite trying to activate it.

What theme is it? Is it a paid or free theme? Have you contacted the theme author?

Please also check your server error logs for any fatal errors that would indicate what is happening when you try to activate that theme.

    Hi

Tried it with another theme as well, did not work. Can you please check what is going wrong?

Sorry for the delay! We’ve been a bit backlogged but will reply to your NS Cloner Free support question soon…

Hi ! Any solution regarding this issue? I am experiencing the same issue with my multisite. It happened suddenly, it was working ok and one day, when I tried to clone a new site, default theme not being activated.

I tried to hardcode the default theme, which worked ok, but then the home page is not defined correctly.

    Please let me know

    Cheers
    Luciano

Well for me it has been more than 15 days since I have received anything from support, however, since I’m on the free plugin(testing it before purchasing pro), I can’t really complain. Still hoping that this works!

Hi ! Do u have any cache plugin on your site?

I had on mine. I deactivated and then tried cloning a site, and it worked perfectly!
So it may be something related to that

    Give it a try

    Hi,

Yes, I was on siteground and had their caching plugin enabled. Disabled it and it worked. Thank you so much, this issue was keeping us on hold for long.

Same thing. I was on Siteground too and using SG optimizer.
I then enabled it again and change a few configuration and still working.
Not sure if uninstalling it and install a different cache plugin, or leave it like this with this new configurations.

    Anyway, lucky that it worked!
