Creating an online bookshop

    Hi. I’m struggling to create an online bookshop using a free WP licence via 1&1, & the Woo Commerce “Storefront” theme. I have an existing non WP site (classic-emporium.co.uk) which is outdated but shows all my products. I simply want to create a new WP/Woo commerce online shop & transfer my existing content over so I can sell online directly. I am disabled with Spina Bifida & hope to be able to trade online from home as getting out isn’t easy. I’m used to uploading content on my old site so can cope with updating content, but its the initial setting up (pages/shop/functionality) I’m struggling with. I can follow guides but haven’t found anything close to my issue. Hopefully someone can help as I desperately dont want to just give up! Thanks all. Rob.

    @rdb67 I understand you are trying to migrate your existing website to WordPress and WooCommerce.

    The website that you currently have, do you know if that was created with a particular CMS? If it was, I would recommend looking out there for tutorials on how to migrate a website from your CMS to WordPress. There might be resources out there already which would help here.

    As for creating a WooCommerce store from scratch, I would recommend giving a read to our documentation. I’d recommend to start with the following doc, which will give you a general overview:

    We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I hope this means you’ve been able to get started with WordPress and WooCommerce.com.

    Taking a look at your site, I see this isn’t a WordPress site so the first step would be getting a WordPress site set up, this will control the general content of your site with WooCommerce for the eCommerce details.
