Me again, I found how to call the function but still not how to specify different categories on each slideshow.
Another problem: there is no link available when I click on the image, all I get is ‘/#frontpage-slideshow’. Do you know why?
By the way, would it be possible to have the buttons displayed below the image instead of left/right sides?
I keep seaching on my side 🙂
Why just test by yourself ? that’s the best way to learn all possibilities.
You can choose as much categories that you need, but those categories are used for all the slideshows that you insert in your website. The ability to create different slideshows and store their options into the admin page is not yet implemented and represent a huge work (so it will be implemented in a quite far future) but you can use shortcodes to override the stored options : juste tweak the slideshow to feat your needs, save the settings (not only the preview) then copy the shortcode given into the “About inserting the slideshow” section of the admin page and choose the shortcode way to insert the slideshow.
Insert the shortcode into the posts or pages you want to display the slideshow, or insert it everywhere into your theme files (see “How to use Getting help” section of admin page to learn how to do so).
Don’t hesitate to ask if you need more help.

Thanks for the quick reply 🙂
Too bad for the categories because I wanted a slideshow showing the latest news for my index page for book cateogy, my movies category and so on… I thought it would not be that difficult to add such a feature since the call is made directly by the function inside the page and it doesn’t need to be saved in the admin page, just like the <?php query_posts(‘showposts=number_of_post&cat=id_number’); ?> works. I think it’s an important feature to implement.
As for the link not being available, I tried everything and I still can’t get the link to my post when I click on the image from the slideshow…
And concerning the position of the buttons, the only choice you give is left or right. Isn’t there any other way to have them below the images?
I spent the entire day on your plugin and it’s really great. Still working on it 😉
About the categories : read again what I writed… the solution is in… (shortcode 😉 )
Links are automatic if no one is given : the link to the post is set… but you got to tell the plugin to do so ! (see “About the default link” section…)
Actually : buttons are on left, right or hidden.
I tried to start a thread about this and other issues but have had no response. Bit frustrating as it is a great plugin.
Is it possible to replicate linux.com behaviour where slideshow only starts when user clicks on a link?
@tonylepony : make sure you post your messages on this forum : http://wordpress.org/tags/frontpage-slideshow if you dont, I wont see your questions (since I dont have a look on other questions).
