Gmail Flagging Emails As Dangerous

    Emails being sent through Gmail using the plugin are being flagged. The specific alert says “This message seems dangerous”. We have been using this plugin for some time now and it seems like this started in the middle of February. No changes were made at that time from our end, but Google possibly made changes that began flagging emails as dangerous that before were (and still are) safe. Any ideas what needs updated to fix this issue?

    Hi @bcookifc,

    This could be a strict filter lately by the Gmail mailbox. Are you also the Gmail mailer for the setup? Your domain reputation and the email content quality are also key to this factor. Are the test emails from WP Mail SMTP are also flagged dangerous?

    I resolved this by going through the Google API setup again, and then switching the website to use the new client ID and secret. The new project in Google seems to be working fine without flagging anything as dangerous.
