reinstall question

Hi..My website was injected with malware and unfortunately nextgen plugin was one of the plugins that has annoying code injected on many of the files. I was wondering instead of going through each file to clean, would it be easier to delete the plugin install and reinstall with a fresh new nextGen gallery?

Would I have to set up the plugin again or is that info stored some place in my wordpress install. I assume the code on the pages and post would still be there but wondering about the settings in the plugin?
