• I’m getting a lot of timeouts and pages loading slowly at times (mostly always).
The apache server is using a lot of memory.
The apache error log shows this:
WordPress database error You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3 for query SELECT COUNT( * ) AS total\r\n\t\t\t\tFROM wp_comments\r\n\t\t\t\tWHERE comment_approved = 1 AND user_id = \r\n\t\t\t\t made by require('wp-blog-header.php'), require_once('wp-includes/template-loader.php'), include('/themes/fronttheme/author.php')
How can i fix this error?
    Thanks,

For the moment, change your theme.

You’re using a commercial theme, so please use their official support channel. We feel they are best equipped to support their products.

Sorry, the change name of the theme in the output for a random name. I’m created the theme, and it’s been running OK for years, I’m just getting this error now.

Did something (like maybe MySQL) get updated on your server?

I just been doing regular updates to the server, but nothing like manually touching the system.

I removed the block of code that triggered the error, and I restarted apache.

However, I’m still getting a lot of timeouts and pages loading slowly, and now the apache error logs are not helping.

Sorry, I didn’t know that I creating a duplicate since I originally describe a different error message.

    I’ll continue here then:

I’m dealing with a timeouts and slow loading speed using a website on a VPS.
It’s been working great for years, but now I noticing the problems I mentioned above, and the error logs doesn’t show anything that indicate a problem.
There was an error, but I fixed it and the problem still there.
Any ideas what else can I do? I have also check the syslog, mysql logs.

    Thanks,

Could this be caused by network latency (packet loss) in the path to the VPS?
