    Hello,

I rarely have problems so I’m thinking my issue is a theme caused one.

Here is what I get when I click “add new” under the post section:

Warning: include(edit-form-advanced.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/logokick/public_html/wp-admin/post-new.php on line 37

Warning: include(edit-form-advanced.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/logokick/public_html/wp-admin/post-new.php on line 37

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘edit-form-advanced.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/logokick/public_html/wp-admin/post-new.php on line 37

    Version 2.8.4

    What could be causing this?

I have adobe dreamweaver so if I need to go into the code let me know and I will try and change what I need to.

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Bump

    Please anyone?!?

The normal debug route. Turn off all the pluging, go to the default theme and see if it works. I am thinking it still won’t so you might want to upload the wp-admin folder to the server again.

Yeah, you were right. At least I did the normal theme and had problems.

I have content on my site so I’m wondering if I do a mysql backup to keep the content and when I do a fresh install of WP will I be able to use the old backup with out it causing problems?

If you do a fresh install, it will create a new database, but you can import the old database into it. If you want to go the easy route, just backup your theme and plugin folders, export to XML (save that to your hard drive), then reinstall WP, upload your plugin and theme folders, and import the XML file. All your posts, pages, etc. will be preserved. (I do this all the time when moving content from my development server to the client’s server.) One caveat, though, sometimes, for whatever odd reason, categories may or may not travel with the XML file. It’s happened to me a few times, but not often enough for me to stop using this procedure. 🙂
