I can’t add tags to my posts. Should I see an option when I am creating new posts?

Yes. It’s within a box/panel called “Post Tabs” that (in a default WP install) is located on the right-hand side of the Add new Post page immediately below the Publish panel. However, the Post Tabs panel is not available when creating a new Page.

It might not be visible because it may be turned off. At the top of the Post page click the “Screen Options” tab (upper-right) and make sure “Post Tags” is checked.

use a plugin – it is simpler
