fast theme with great features and support

After a few weeks of exploring different options, I recently switched my two websites from an abandoned theme to GeneratePress Premium. I’ve found it to be highly customizable while still being streamlined and fast.

It takes a slightly different approach than some other popular themes. Rather than every feature under the sun being included as a button or drag-and-drop icon, many of the modifications do require a bit more effort and learning up front. This may include inserting some CSS or php code via a plugin. However, I was able to get quite a few questions answered just by searching the theme’s extensive support database. I got a quick response to one of the few things I’ve needed to ask about so far. (I also appreciate that this approach helps to keep the theme streamlined and fast.)

Some modifications are much easier with GeneratePress, once you grasp the power of certain features like its hooks and elements. I was able to eliminate a few other plugins designed to place content in places not allowed by the default theme, because GeneratePress already had built-in features allowing me to do that. For example, I was able to tell GeneratePress to place certain content on posts belonging to specific categories but not others.

The theme also plays better with WordPress’ built-in page editor than some other themes I explored. I appreciate that what I see within Gutenberg blocks on the back end is pretty close to what I’ll see on the front end, so I don’t have to go back and forth as much.
