• Hi guys

I had issue for a long time but i just ignored. But now my friends told me that 404.png also may hurt ranking as well. So i tried to 301 redirect my https://gezicenga.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/7.jpg to my homepage. But it also shows on gt metrix and pindgom as a error.

My question is, there is a way to redirect this jpg on htaccess ? It was most likely upload theme and i removed the logo from there or something else i do not know.

It has been 1 week i am trying to fix this except redirecting with 301 redirection plugin. Could you please tell me is there any good solution for this

    Thanks

  • Check with a screaming frog and you will see if you have any url errors in real-time. I test that the redirection is ok, so the tools you mention have not actual/updated results.
    It can heart ranking if:
you adjust your SEO plugin to index those type of files or if you submit it to the sitemap.xml. You don’t need to disallow that type of urls in .htaccess. it is for permanent files or folders. Also if you first disallow the web crawlers they will not have information if you use tags noindex ,nofollow (the page can be indexed from other sources).

    Hey Yanko
    Thanks for the answer.

So should i just leave it 301 ? I have another website and the same issue with png. And i still did not redirect that one. Just wanted to make sure if it is okay or not.
