Restrict Postcode Shipping to Particular products

    I have an established shop set up and shipping zones which calculated shipping based on the order total which all works great.

    I’m trying to add a new product to my shop and this product is going to need different shipping costs base on the postcode of the customer.

    Is there a way to treat this product differently in the shop and to set up different costs for different UK postcodes but just for this product?

    You would need a shipping method that could be set to a specific product or shipping class.

    Then set up shipping zones for the postcode ranges that only have that shipping method in them.

    Place these first in your shipping zone list so that if the product is in the cart that zone will trigger first.

    Thanks for your response Sean, can you elaborate on how to set up a shipping method to be set to a particular product?

    I can set up the different zones for different groups f postcode but then dont know how to attach those zones to a particular product?

    You would need the shipping method to be aware of Shipping Classes – that way it will only appear if a product with that Shipping Class is in the basket. Most of the Table Rate type plugins offer this in their premium versions.

    Might be worth investigating as it also works on product tags instead of classes
