Excluding roles from coupon doesn’t work

    Excluding roles from the coupon doesn’t seem to work. We want to exclude existing customers and subscribers. We have excluded these roles in the coupon generator, but when we test the coupons on our website from these specific roles, they do work but they shouldn’t.

    Note: we are not testing from our own administrator accounts, but from specific test accounts.

    If we make 1 coupon in the normal WC subscription coupon environment, it does work, and existing customers/subscribers are excluded. Does anyone have experience with this and knows how to solve this?

    Hi,

    The coupon generator only stores the data of the WC Core coupon fields; if there are any custom fields like user role exclusion that won’t work out of the box and requires a bit of coding for it to also recognise/store those fields.

    Hi Jeroen,

    thank you for your response.
    But the field I’m referring to (excluded customer roles, roughly translated) is to my knowledge, a core field and not a custom field, or not?
    If i go to ‘Coupons’, and then the fourth tab (check-ut/ pay? again roughly translated) the field can be found there and you can select customer roles to exclude. In the coupon generator you can also do this, but the functionality simply doesn’t seem to work when I test the coupons after generating them.

    When I create one coupon in ‘coupons’, the functionality of excluding roles seems to work. If we create multiple coupons in ‘coupon generator’ the functionality doesn’t seem to work.

    Or maybe this function comes from the other plugin we have:
    ‘WooCommerce Extended Coupon Features FREE’

    It has the functionality: Restrict coupon to certain customer roles

    Hi Ruben,

    That’d be the one that adds the functionality. It’d require some additional customization in order to support the custom fields added by the plugin there.
