    Hi friends,

    In my dashboard I am seeing the error in Incoming links, Word Press Development blog and Other Word Press News as below

    Incoming links
    “RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to blogsearch.google.com IP number 1: Permission denied”

    Word Press Development blog
    RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to wordpress.org IP number 1: Permission denied

    Other Word Press News
    RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to planet.wordpress.org IP number 1: Permission denied

    Kindly anyone help me in sorting out the issue. I am using the version as 2.8.2

    I’m having this same problem, certain plug-ins that need to communicate to other sites arent working. Examples like a few Twitter plug-ins and a auto blogging plug-in. They ether say “error communicating with twitter” or “Failed to connect to ***** IP number 1: Permission denied” Has anyone figured this problem out yet?

    Found the problem to my issue. I was using a free hosting plan, which was not allowed to perform outgoing connections to remote servers. When I upgrade my account it fixed everything.
