    When I write an article, how is it possible to only have a bit of the beginning appear on the from page, and then when a user clicks “Read More”, the whole article is displayed on its permalink page?

    You need to use the ‘more’ tag. There’s a button on the post editor, or you can just use: <!--more--> in HTML mode.

    Only stuff before the ‘more’ tag is displayed on the home page, while the whole thing is displayed on the Permalink page.
