• Hello everyone,
a few days ago, without having done any setting changes at all, I found out I couldn’t access the dashboard anymore. I can login, but as soon as I do I get this message:
Unable to create directory …/wp-content/uploads/2009/10. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
Is there anything I can try to look into before I reinstall WordPress?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

Your error message suggests that you are trying to upload image/file into your blog. Are you trying to upload any file/image? If so, then assign 766 recursive permissions to wp-content folder of your blog. It should resolve your problem.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    Hi Shane G.,
no I’m not, I’m just trying to get into the Dashboard, that’s it. Anyway, I tried to set the Upload folder and the enclosed ones on both 777 and 766, nothing changed.
